THSC CLUB PHILOSOPHY
We believe that it is not about winning or losing, it is all about learning and
having fun that is why the kids keep coming back year after year.
We believe that all children have potential to both enjoy and excel at physical
activities and our program is designed to help them accomplish just that.
We give equal attention and encouragement to all of our players regardless of their
skill level. Children do not need to be taught how to be competitive - it is instinctive.
What we must teach them is to always make their very best effort; trying to teach
how to deal with victory and with defeat; and how to put both of these into a healthy
perspective.
Winning is the noble objective, but there is triumph in defeat when the best has
been given.
ABOUT US AND OUR LEAGUE
Toronto Hawks Soccer club is a non profit organization and is in our tenth season.
Our club has established itself as a quality club for boys and girls, both beginners
and experienced players.
Our club has grown with soccer popularity in Canada. We have introduced and taught
the game of soccer to many kids. Over the last eight years we have also enhanced
our coaching techniques quite a bit to satisfy new challenges. Soccer is a safe
and enjoyable sport, which every child with any level of ability can enjoy and participate
in.
Our soccer season starts at the beginning of June and ends in the last week of August.
Our practices and the development of our players are a very important part of our
program. All the practices are administered by experienced coaches with assistance
from volunteer coaches. All the drills have been pre-planned by our head coach in
the beginning of the season for specific age groups.
We try to make our league both enjoyable for players and convenient and practical
for parents. Players receive their schedule for the whole season (practice and games)
at beginning of the season.
The Toronto Hawks Soccer program is a volunteer based community soccer club. The
success of our program is a result of great work by our volunteers. If you have
a couple of hours a week after 6pm to support our program we would be delighted
to have you on our side.
